My best furry friend never quit on me. He was always there. He got me through some tough times, and I got him through some, too.

So the proposed toast is thus: (all, please raise your glasses. Diz liked Heineken.)

May any dog we ever adopt be half the dog that Dizzie was,
and may I be half the man that Dizzie thought I was.

He never quit on me, but his kidneys quit on him. We'll miss ya, Buddy.

I am so sorry to hear that. I know how you feel.

Thanks, spurge. I appreciate the thoughts. Sucks, don't it?

They're the best friends ever, but their lives are so short. Maybe it's condensed love and friendship, in a fur coat. Enjoy it while it lasts.

You may want to send the same thoughts to the Cuttlefish. He's having a shitty week, too.

I'm late with this - but I am so sorry. I always want my dogs to live forever, and then the reality of their short lives hits me full force. They're amazing creatures - so we're lucky to have them in our lives, if only for a short time.

Thank you, Pam. It's true that their lives are too damn short. Bright fires, using their fuel too fast, I guess.

Give Anabelle Lee and The Dan (and is Stanley yours?) some good scritches for me. Scritches all 'round!

We adopted a new pup already. The house was too quiet. I'll introduce her to the world when I can get a non-blurry picture of her. I think she might be nuclear powered, too damn fast!

Mike, I'm really loat on this as well. I'm sorry to hear about diz, a beacon of fantastic college memories for me.

Hope all is going well.

Thanks, Bob. we had some interesting times with that little bastard, didn't we.

How 'bout the time he replaced Eric's essay (due the next day) with a large number of q's? At least Eric learned to save his work before he left. And push in his chair.
